Made It to Winston-Salem

After over 3000 miles we finally made it to North Carolina. Driving down through the Smokey Mountains was beautiful but so slow. What's with the slow speed limits everywhere back east?
We found Hayden's apartment first. Winners!! Jeff & Rachel pulled in about 15 minutes behind us. Then another 20-30 min later Big Bird arrived. It was so great to see Jeff & Rachel!! It was wonderful that they drove all the way down to meet up with us. After we got the apartment keys and looked around a bit we decided to get some lunch together before it was time to take Ashley to the airport. We tried Chick Fila but we never could find it so we detoured to 5 Guys and had a great lunch together. All too soon it was time to get Ashley to the airport. The timing was amazing though because she was able to meet up with Megan who was just flying in to Winston-Salem!
We were all pretty relieved to see Megan because she was so far along in her pregnancy she really shouldn't have been flying. That would have been a disaster.
While Hayden & I were at the airport Mendis, Jeff & Rachel were unpacking the truck. What a beast. The stairs about killed all of us. But we finally got it done.
Lots of work ahead of us here. But how cute is their apartment?
That night we headed out to dinner and found a great Mexican Restaurant. It was so good. We just worked on the apartment the rest of the day and cleared a spot to put out our air mattresses.
Sunday morning Jeff & Rachel had to head home so we went out for brunch first. We tried out Biscuitville and I approve. So yummy. Then sadly they had to go. They couldn't get all their stuff home with them so Hayden is having to store it so they can get it home a bit at a time.
That afternoon we headed up to campus to get a proper look at Wake Forest. It was really beautiful. All those trees! The business building where Hayden has his classes is amazing. So high tech too.
The rest of the commons was amazing. It was so fun to see it.
The next day it was time for us to fly home. It was so sad to leave then there alone but we know they will do amazing things. It's going to be a great adventure. Next up is to get that baby girl here safe and sound.
