Day 5 Helicopter Tour!!

We reserved the helicopter on Saturday and we were so excited about it it was hard to wait until Monday morning but it was finally here. We wore our dark clothes and followed instructions for everything. I even took 1/4 of a nondrowsy dramamine just in case! But it was fine. I was nervous for about 5 minutes and that's pretty much it. It helped when our pilot told us he had flown black hawk helicopters in the military!

Take off was amazing and over before I knew it.

We flew right over our resort. I knew we fairly close to the airport but we really super close. The trip was incredible and we discovered that 70% of the island can't be seen without it because there are no roads or any way to get in there.
The Jurassic Falls were so cool. I loved it when they played the movie theme song while we flew over it. The series of waterfalls was right there close by.

Not far away was Waimea Canyon. It was neat form the air. Lots more waterfalls there than we had seen from the view areas.
Then we flew over the rainforest or the world's highest swamp. It's the wettest spot on earth and all the rain fall just feeds all the rivers and waterfalls below on the island.
Then one of the highlights was flying right down over the Napali Coast. It's a heck of a view. We spent alot of time circling around it so we could all see it .

We went over the north shore area and back into the rain forest and up into the crater. The area before the crater was fantastic and it was there we witnessed a full circle rainbow.
Absolutely stunning.
Then we went right up into the crater itself. The side had blown off when the island was formed. It was so amazing. The helicopter flew right in there and right up to the edge of the cliffs.

There were waterfalls everywhere.
The helicopter tour was for sure the most exciting and most beautiful part of our whole trip. We just loved it and wished we could turn around and do it all over again.
This was just the morning...
