Today was another big miles day. But we did have a special treat for dinner. We took a few pics of state signs along the way in the last couple of days but not everyone.
We were so excited to get to Tennessee.
Gas stops would have been a great time to visit along the way but we rarely stopped at the same time or the same place. Here's one exception.
In fact we didn't see much of Penske aka Big Bird.
So we veered off I-40 and went down through Murfreesboro to this awesome BBQ joint to meet up with Beth & John, Dreah and Nathan! What an awesome thing to have dinner with them. We loved catching up for a little bit before we had to keep going.
The food was great. We had to roll ourselves out of there.
It was a fabulous reunion. I wish we could do stuff like this more often. After dinner we split off form Big Bird again as we fought our way back to the I-40. We ended up taking a cute little side road through the country. I drove so Ashley could take it all in especially the lightening bugs!! She was so excited. Well we both were heck. We had a few more hours of driving and we finally made it to Knoxville. Another really late night. I am seeing a pattern. We were sooo close to Ashley& Benjy's friends but there wasn't a way to for them to really meet up since we were off again first thing in the morning.
