Our Annual Gingerbread House Fest

We have been doing this for so many years now I'm not even sure when we officially got started. I always needed some time to get dinner ready on Christmas eve so I would set the kids up with all the stuff to make and decorate their own gingerbread houses. They loved it!
It has turned out into quite the competition over the years.
The trash talking starts months before before there are moments of quiet concentration as well. It's always so fun to see what everyone comes up with. I give each team a special ingredient they must include in their masterpiece. This year it was a Lindt snowman.
The boys were given a group project his year for their house. The big boys just divided their house in two. Dane was everywhere. Mostly eating the candy of course.
Here is Dane bored with our structure and rolling around on the floor eating candy. We was rather enjoying himself down there so what the heck. We let him go with it.

This won the the accolades of the day: Cooper said his gingerbread man had been sucker punched!!

Hayden & Meg's sports complex in their yard.
Jeff & Rachel's Mount Vernon was awesome.
 Christina's mansion was adorable.
 The Comeau Boys' masterpiece!
Always a fun afternoon and this year lived up to the hype!
(Can you see the snowmen?)
