It's a long story but Jeff & Rachel won the best contest ever. Their friend Terry entered them in a radio contest in DC to win $25,000 in fertility treatments. They made it down to the final five couples and then they had to submit a video to be shown on line about why they wanted to have a baby. It was just about a minute long maybe and they had no time to prepare at all before it was due in. So they made their little video basically telling people why they should vote for them and then the real hard work began.
So the station posted all five videos and had the public vote for who they thought should win. You could vote once per day per email. So they formed a facebook group for reminders and updates and we started voting. The contest ran for about three weeks so there was a voting frenzy. We posted and shared on Facebook and voted and voted and voted. Finally the contest was over and 1300 votes later Jeff & Rachel were the winners.
What a blessing to get this prize. They brought them down to the station for a "final interview" and told them they had won!! It's still so hard to believe. It was alot of work but so very worth it. We are so grateful for all the people who took the time to vote and support them in this.
They get started right away!!
