Disney in December

Ashley called me a few months ago and told me about a trip some of her friends were putting together for Disneyland. They were chartering a bus for any woman 18 years old and up from our valley who wanted to go. She was super excited about it and invited me to go with her for a girls trip. It was on a Wednesday during the first part of the month. We loaded up two full buses at about 1:30 am at the fairgrounds and hit the road.
There were Christmas movies playing the whole way but we really were hoping to catch a nap at least some of the time. Everyone was pretty excited but some snoozing did happen. Just some.
Everyone on the trip got matching sweatshirts and we all wore them for a picture right at the first of the day.
It was really fun to see women all day all over the park wearing those sweatshirts so we knew they were a part of the group. Carolyn and Rachel drove up from San Diego to meet us and play for the day. That was a blast hanging out all day together.
One thing we did that I've always wanted to try was the beignets in New Orleans.

They were so yummy. We rode rides all day and had a blast.
Heather stayed with us and it was so fun getting to know her.
 Peter Pan of course!
Splash Mountain.

We loved this shirt so much. If we ever do a big family trip to Disney I have to do this.
We hit it hard all day.
I had made reservations for us in advance at the Blue Bayou.
We even got to sit close to the water.
We were in line for Thunder Mountain RR when Carolyn got an email saying a fire was headed towards her town and prepare to evacuate. So they left immediately. But before they were even out of the park she got word that it wasn't imminent and came right back and they stayed until it closed with us.
One of the fun things too was Disneyland was decorated for Christmas of course. I love that.
The Haunted Mansion was decked out as the Nightmare Before Christmas. It was fun to see that but I prefer the traditional way myself.
It really was an awesome day.
We had to get back to the bus at 9:15 pm so we could leave by 9:30 and everyone  made it back just in time. No drama no fuss. We pulled out exhausted but with fantastic memories of the day. We pulled in at 4:30 so I went straight to bed and went late to work the next day. We were tired but have enjoyed some great memories of our fun together! There's talk of another trip next year.
